KISS! The weapon, not the rock group

In keeping with the previous posts about good Boss Items, I present 'Kiss', one of only 2 items on the game with a +7 enhancement bonus. As you can see, the damage isnt bad either. Not sure if you can wield Katana's two handed like you can in PnP D&D but it's still a pretty kickass weapon. Gotta kill the Rakshasa for this one, so good luck!

Yeah, that's one of the best boss weapons around. I really like making weapon masters that use that katana.
Any small sized toon like halfling or gnome can weild a katana with two hands. Which gives me an idea for my next build.
Hmm.. have a Athaslan bard/barb/rdd and another one bard/bard/pm maybe I'll try a bard/wm/rdd, hmm, she'll hit even harder than the first build. And that one was hitting as hard as any trog around..

I'm making a Deep Orc Bard/WM/RDD right now with a Kukri. The Crit range is going to be 10-20, a 55% chance of getting a Crit, same build with a Katana would have a 35% chance of getting a Crit and would hit pretty darn hard even if it didnt. I like the build, but it starts REALLY slow because you have to take so many specific feats to qualify for WM that dont really help you much as you're starting out. I'm currently planning both a Bard/RDD/CoT and a Bard/RDD/Cleric for the Katana, should be pretty fun, especially if I can get my hands on some True Strike scrolls :P

Yeah, I see what u mean. That's why both my athaslan weild scimis. And getting wm with a rapier, scimi or kukri is the most effective crit combination one can get.
But I like making some "exotic" builds too. That bard/rdd/cleric seems a very good one.
Hmm, even your cleric/bard/pm build. I'm thinking about using a athaslan or any other small sized template. Str based, she'd weild a scimi/rapier with both hands but I'd still get some protection with EMA. Or even dual weild kukris.. lol lot of options there.. :D

A large creature like Human can dual-wield Katanas with a AB penalty just like Longsword or Scimtar. This is a STRENGTH based weapon, you will also be loosing Shield AC on a build that is already AC hungary. I have built dual-wield Katana Characters and in the end I use a shield and one Katana. Unless your a Ranger, you waste three feats and loose AB and AC. Dual-wield is best used by characters with high Dexterity and a weapon that can use the Weapon Finess Feat. ....But I did make a Str based Weapon Master once that dual-wielded Scimtars. The chance to hit on a Dev Crit was awsome.

+7 Weapons: Leech(medusa), Kiss(rakshasa), Silencer(drow mage), Dark Ritual(bruce), Sheelo's Whip(can't remember the name and it's discontinued), Holy Avenger(but it's +8)

Kiss, the 2d12 slashing damage overrides the +7 damage from the enhancement bonus. If the +7 was changed to an AB bonus, the damage would still be the same. Still a nice weapon. I just don't like spending an extra feat on it.

This is a hard-to-get Boss Drop.
Would make a fine weapon for any strength based build.

I built a Halfling once around this weapon. Being a two-handed weapon for a Halfling, that increased the base damage by 1.5 Altho I did not take Weapon Master levels, I was able to Dev-Crit "Draggy" real easy.
