I haven't paid much attention to that sort of thing, maybe we all should look more closely
I didn't either until all of a sudden I was getting ripped to shreds.
If your character is considered "Flat-Footed" then you lose any AC from Dodge and/or Dex. It makes dex based builds REALLY easy to hit, if they are flat footed.
Well, that seems to happen sometimes even with chars with uncanny dodge..
