UBER Barbarian

UBER Barbarian UnBuffed UBER Barbarian Buffed

Being to UBER can have it's problems. There is a +12 cap on stuff added to gear. Once you hit that +12 cap, buffs from spells stop working. The Barbarian relies on her Rage to boost Strength and Constitution. But with +12 gear, the Rage has no effect making the Barbarian, useless, to be blunt.
On BadLands RPG, a Barbarian can get beyond this +12 cap. This is done by taking the +12 Str and Con off you gear and putting it on your person. Now, Rage will function normally and the Barbarian is a worthy foe or companion.

In the above pictures, you see my Pigsnout. On the Left, freshly rested. On the Right, she is fully buffed and Greater Raged.

You can see the sever messages about being level 40 and ready to take level 41, as well as Two Weapon Shield adding 1 AC. Getting beyond level 40 and up to level 60, is possible on BadLands RPG. You can also get up to +3 AC while useing two weapons or a two-handed weapon. These are separate discussions.

To become an UBER Barbarian, you need to be level 21 and have 10 Barbarian levels. Currently, you need +4 Str and +4 Con and +5 AC on three items that you're wearing. In the Stone Conjoint, is a big Half-Orc that will work with you. He takes all 12 Str and Con off of your gear and puts it on your person. Then you can Rage and get you bonus that your entitled.

A Barbarian (UBER or not) can also get UBER Rage (or did I call it Legendary Rage?) If you have 35 levels of Barbarian and all three Epic Rage Feats, then you get +12 Rage, and the use of using you standard Rage for UBER Rage. The Terrifying Rage gets bumped up a bit so it's possible to fear some monsters that are your level.

Ok, I have made a Legendary Goliath (41) called Arnold MasterBlade.

I wish to open up a discussion on the Uber Barbarian and his/ her equipment.

I have 5 Barbarian Builds at the moment, all Legendary.

They vary quite a bit, 2 of them use robes/clothing, and 3 of them use Medium Armour ChainMail.

As Strength and Constitution are paramount for Barbarians, the 2 of mine that use the robes / clothing are compromised to the extent that they have put into dex (or not), instead of taking further Ability points in STR or CON.

They all have this in common...Helm / Bracers / Belt are used on all my builds for the Uber Gear........it is the only way that i have found to go UBER.

Weapon and Shield can be upgraded from Boss Drops, but I have refrained from seeking "SharkBoots " for any of these chars as they include 2 STR on them.

I tend to be left putting Dex Cha & Wis on my Armour Rings Amulet and sometimes Cloak. (Amulet and Rings obviously using full saving throws, and +5 AC on Ammy too)

What I would like to see in the Game is a Boss drop for a Medium Armour ChainMail, maybe +8 like the Dev Shell Shield, and with Ability Points that do not conflict with the Str & Con on the Uber gear for Barbarians.

I did float this notion past "Q" today as his DM was feeding me with monsters, and received an Interested "Hmmmm" lol :)

Maybe this fuller explanation of what I am "After" and Why, is the right way to proceed on this.

My Level 56 Pure Barbarian is "Disappointing" and all seem to suffer from low AC, as they cannot upgrade to Full Plate in Castle Sheelo, or further upgrade their Helmets. Shark Boots seem to be out too as mentioned above.

Eagerly looking forward to all your responses, especially from "Q" when he has had time to mull this over.

I know that probably not that many builds are made requiring Medium Armour as a proportion of the total made, but we can usually improvise for weapons with crafting and choosing carefully, whereas a Mellee type like the Barbarian that could benefit from Boss drops to enhance it seems penalised a bit at the moment.

All the Best ............Blade:)

Uhm, well, gosh-golly-gee,....

Actually, you can use the Shark Skin Boots or any other Boss Drop you want to. That's why I made the "trade item thing".
Wearing the Shark Skin Boots (or any drop) will only remove the Str and Con from them leaving all the other properties alone. This will only lower their selling price and make them undesirable to give away.

Terry had a good idea about this some time ago and I have not got around to implementing it yet. When I do, I will add the Dwarven Defender to this UBER Class List.
That idea is to use Skill Points instead of extra AC. Weapon and Armor Crafting Skills, Appraise Skills are completely unused in BadLands and I could use a combination of those skills instead of the AC. Then, boots could be included in the list of UBER items to use and trading items would be better. You could use items that share the same type of AC because AC would not be part of the Str/Con fill.
