Badlands Revelations

"And I saw, and behold, a pale horse: and he that sat upon him, his name was Death; and Hades followed with him. And there was given unto them authority over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with famine, and with death, and by the wild beasts of the earth."
The Arcane Brotherhood, though possessed of a few mighty sorcerers and those with the Blood of the Magi, are rarely seen in the Badlands. Perhaps it's because they travel the planes and dimensions seeking absolute power, leaving them little time to make brief returns to the Prime Material Plane. Whatever the reason, they have noticed a changing pattern in the Badlands: The prisoners are running the prison; the impure and feint of heart run roughshod over the few remaining lesser nobles. This incursion by half-breeds and serfs has spread like a plague from Newport to Sheelo. Hellie Layne has convened the Council of Elders in Newport to deal with the uprising of the peasantry. With far laying interests throughout the known Universe, the Arcane Brotherhood cannot hope to punish and remove the "Shadow Blades" and "free blads" from their reign of terror without help from the Arcane's ages old enemy- the Death Dealers.

Okay, enough of my RPG mode. There's been some discussion of this over the past few weeks, but I'd like to see something become official. "Blades" and "blads" are seriously out of control. I suggest either an Arcane/Dealers allegiance, or dissolving one (or both) and starting fresh. Perhaps Thanatos can become reborn. Whatever the case, Simon and I can't deal with these scrotes by ourselves. I now open it up to comments from the audience...

I read the relevations and am still waiting for a real threat to appear. Shadow Blades often own the outposts , but run for the hills during pvp alot. A merger of those two guilds wouldnt change the fact that many of the other guilds lack the firepower or inclination to start anything aggressive atm.

Nostalgia ...this week i witnessed an oki pk on leg ....and a messy end

Also the emergence of botha potential new rome ledak ..and a tyrswrath.
For the absent , ledak was a desperado leveler , and tyrswrath was a uber annoyance. Prizes for guessing the log-in clones recently attached to this.

Well, you'll have to keep the prize because I doubt anyone who reads this blog knows who you're referring to.

About pvp stuff. Don't forget, danos quit the server, so Shadow Blades is no more.
And since his single follower, quad, hasn't expressed any interest in continuing the indigo fairy lineage alive, we'll have to kill it soon. Unless another purple guy appears and asks for the warlord rank for himself.

I need to chime in with the mechanics of Guild Ownership Transfer.

Only the current owner (Warlord) can transfer that title. Both must be logged on to do this. If this can't happen, dis-banning the guild is the only choice.

In response to some other guild issues in other posts or statements made in-game. Most guilds are leaderless and doing just fine. Their leaders quit playing on BadLands RPG or don't log on with their leader.

Very few of the guilds have ever had a leader that knew how to lead. Which is why guild activity is almost non-existent. No guild ever once waged war against another guild. The guilds are treated as a parking lot for a one-man-army.

Guilds are a place for GROUP activities. If your one that likes to solo (like me) then why join a guild? If your doing the guild thing, then it is about a leader and a small group of followers. (the term Cult, comes to mind) Hopefully with a common goal or direction. In this case, to defeat the enemy by any means possible. Monsters and non-guild members are a common obstacle making it more challenging.
Have we forgot about the balanced group efforts? One uses Knock-Down, while one Pick-Pockets, yet another uses Disarm. If your good, you disarmed the enemy and their sword fell to the ground and you teamy picked it up.
If the enemy is cunning they have a back-up sword on their quick-bar ready to go. Chances are they don't and are now flat-footed, weaponless, and missing a shield as well. Maybe your rogue did his job and nabbed a stack of Red Beryls and now they can't even buy a new sword without much effort.

I think it was Sepka and his guild that fell apart when the Boss Drops went into a power-checking-system. Every member in his guild had every boss drop, but not one of them could kill a boss. Not even as a group. Only Sepka, the leader, was able to BK (Boss Kill). Instead of helping his guild make better toons, he threw a tantrum, disbanded his guild and has never logged on since.
Now that's leadership!

Not true. Once upon a time, The Legendary Heroes had a nasty rivalry going on with Talon, Mnich and Jajus' green guys (darian.. what was the guild's name again??). And they waged war on the other often, for every single outpost.
Sephka had another long gone regular as his guid mate and Razius.. (wtf?) yes, Razius was in his guild.

Lots of players quit after the boss drop check system. Sephkas reasons to leaving were not related to that. That was talon's.. and a few others.

We just have to remember that this is an online game, where your whole xp'ing isn't entwined with the group concept, which IS pen and paper, a bunch of guys sitting around a table, playing together 99% of the time.

Yeah gotta agree that during the Sephka ( LH ) and Razius guilds times hate and guild wars were normal.
This is probably the unhealthy side of a friendly , content community .......they dont argue and aren't spiteful to one another.
The green guild was called Defenders of Ligh and even House of the Red Sun happily got involved in the pk sprees against Sephka or Razius. The only guys to get close to that level of server wide anomosity since were the short lived DEATH guild ages ago and more recently Paines Death Dealers when its members hunted vigourously.
I guess beingthe focal point of server hate isnt all that attractive to us all.
